A small Training Project to train trainers in SIMIAN will take place in April 2009. Participants include CAAMA, PAW Media, PY Media. Trainer: Gerry Pyne. Road Map to Country - A valuable website resource for use by Indigenous Communities, Training Providers and Enterprise Development stakeholders to encourage training and give advice on how to work appropriately with Indigenous Australians on their Country. A collection of yarns, vodcasts, images and practical tips. Roadmap to Country is an initiative undertaken by Service Skills Australia as a project funded under the Australian Government’s Industry Training Strategies Program, administered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
This year Stage 2 of this project will see 'PowerUp Plus' developed. Audios, demos and 'how to' guides will be added to this resource in English and 2 or 3 Indigenous languages. IRCA will be working with remote media nominees to test and evaluate the tools...also to create language translations which will be included on the site.
PowerUp Plus will be really helpful to Media Associations, especially those with Telecentres attached where people are wanting to create content and see it uploaded to the internet. Will be really helpful for those who want to become content producers for IndigiTUBE video!! Coming really SOON!!
A social network has been created for PowerUp Plus participants to work on, project manage and evaluate the resource during its development. This is a closed site but if you are really interested contact Linda at IRCA - manager@irca.net.au and ask for an invitation to join in.
